Celebrating International Education Week

Posted On Wednesday November 20, 2019

Approximately 80 international students attend our Durham Catholic elementary and secondary schools across Durham Region. The students come from countries such as China, Mexico, Brazil, and Spain to improve their English language skills and to attend school.

In celebration of International Education Week from November 18 to 22, 2019, we are thankful for our international students for building cross-cultural understanding and enriching our schools.

This week, our schools are celebrating in various ways. Students at Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School in Whitby were encouraged to wear their heritage shirts on Tuesday, November 19 to showcase their multi-cultural school community.
